Saint Paulia ~ African Violet

The Saint Paulia Young Plants are produced in Indonesia on the Island of Java. Several years ago the company FlorElite and ELT started production in Indonesia after a search for the best climate and circumstances for the cuttings they wanted to produce. The elevation is much higher than sea-level, which makes the climate not too warm. besides Saint Paulia they also produce Geranium and Chrysanthemum for fall production.

All the greenhouses are made of steel and well kept in an excellent condition for top production of the products. The products are shipped on an almost daily bases to the destinations and markets they serve. Planning for production is done  a long time ahead.

  Mother-stock plants are grown in well disinfected houses and the climate is held according to teh best circumstances for growing optimal young plants The mother stock is grown on tables, so ground organism are not able to affect the plants. The greenhouses are very clean and there are no weeds, insects and such limiting production of quality young plants.

After the leaves have been cut and sorted, slowly but firmly young plants develop and make the start for a healthy growth at the customers place. For now large markets have been Holland and Canada, and with this new venture we are going to also serve the USA market. The success has been young, uniform, healthy and year-round consistent supply of Saint Paulia cuttings to the market.

  Small plants are selected for uniformity and quality delivered to the market place. The selection can go up to 5

different classes, to make sure that uniform start in your greenhouses, the final grower,  is a given.

The boxes are kept on a adequate temperature for the different products. For the Violets the young plants are

 packed in a well insulated box, so that the cuttings are not getting influences of the outside climate bothering and as such affecting  them during transport.
